Fase pembangkitan alternatif berhasil merumuskan tiga opsi variasi desain produk. Melalui matriks evaluasi alternatif, varian Sunmory mencatatkan nilai luas gap sebesar 0,211. Akhirnya, pada tahapan improving details, integrasi modifikasi desain berhasil menekan biaya produksi hingga menyentuh angka Rp1.062.000.
A clothesline is a conventional tool that typically uses ropes and relies on the sun’s thermal radiation to dry clothes. However, this traditional system has operational limitations because users must manually move the clothes when it rains. To address these challenges, the design of the Sunmory product was initiated: the Sensor Automatic Rain to More Dry, an innovative automatic clothes-drying system based on fluid sensor technology, adopting Nigel Cross’s methodology through seven fundamental phases. During the goal clarification phase, a decision tree diagram was successfully constructed, while the function definition phase established an input-output scheme representing the product’s operational mechanism. Based on the needs specification analysis, nine parameters were identified in the “wish” category and one attribute in the “demand” category. Furthermore, in the characteristic determination phase, two parameters were identified as “very difficult,” three as “difficult,” and two as “moderate.” The alternative generation phase successfully formulated three product design variation options. Through the alternative evaluation matrix, the Sunmory variant recorded a gap width value of 0.211. Finally, in the detail improvement stage, the integration of design modifications successfully reduced production costs to Rp1,062,000.
