Abstract

Efisiensi lini produksi merupakan faktor krusial dalam industri manufaktur untuk menjaga daya pemenuhan target produksi. Ketidakseimbangan lintasan (line imbalance) sering menyebabkan bottleneck, idle time, dan penurunan kapasitas produksi. Pada lini produksi ragum, ketidakseimbangan lintasan mengakibatkan tingginya waktu menganggur, sehingga diperlukan metode penyeimbangan yang tepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan lini produksi ragum melalui penerapan line balancing dengan metode Region Approach dan software POM-QM, serta membandingkan kinerja kedua pendekatan tersebut. Berdasarkan peramalan permintaan 18.739 unit selama 746 hari kerja, diperoleh waktu siklus 2.007 detik/unit dan total waktu produksi 11.382 detik dengan jumlah stasiun kerja minimum 6 stasiun. Metode Region Approachmenghasilkan 7 work center, balance delay 16,14%, efisiensi lini 83,86%, idle time 2.191 detik, dan smoothness index 1.621,98. Software POM-QM menghasilkan 6 work center dengan balance delay 2,87%, efisiensi lini 97,13%, idle time 336 detik, dan smoothness index 158,49. Penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi referensi bagi industri manufaktur dalam memilih metode line balancing yang tepat untuk meningkatkan efisiensi lini produksi.

Production line efficiency is a crucial factor in the manufacturing industry to maintain production targets. Line imbalance often causes bottlenecks, idle time, and decreased production capacity. In the vise production line, line imbalance results in high idle time, necessitating an appropriate balancing method. This study aims to optimize the vise production line through the implementation of line balancing using the Region Approach method and POM-QM software, as well as to compare the performance of these two approaches. Based on demand forecasting of 18.739 units over 746 working days, a cycle time of 2.007 seconds per unit was obtained, with a total production time of 11.382 seconds and a minimum of 6 workstations. The Region Approach method resulted in 7 work centers, with a balance delay of 16,14%, line efficiency of 83,86%, idle time of 2.191 seconds, and a smoothness index of 1.621,98. The POM-QM software resulted in 6 work centers, with a balance delay of 2,87%, line efficiency of 97,13%, idle time of 336 seconds, and a smoothness index of 158,49. This research is expected to serve as a reference for manufacturing industries in selecting appropriate line balancing methods to improve and production line efficiency.
