FiberGuard is an external filtration device designed to filter microplastics and synthetic fabric fibers from washing machine wastewater to reduce environmental pollution caused by synthetic textiles. This product uses a multi-stage filtration system based on stainless steel mesh and microfiber filters that can effectively capture small particles. In addition, the device is equipped with a water flow sensor to monitor filtration performance, an LED indicator, and a universal connector that allows compatibility with various types and brands of washing machines.Product design is an important stage in the development process because it is related to determining the shape, dimensions, and functions so that the product can operate properly. In designing FiberGuard, the 7-step Nigel Cross method was applied, beginning with brainstorming to determine product specifications according to user needs. The AHP method was used to collect and analyze user requirements systematically. The requirement-setting stage resulted in a comparison between 7 wish aspects and 3 demand aspects of the product. Furthermore, in the alternative evaluation stage, the selected design was concluded to be the best alternative. The improving details stage produced a simple, practical, and effective product as a solution to reduce microplastic pollution
