The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of organic matter provision on improving the ecosystem of lowland rice fields in supporting food security. The study was conducted in Limau Manis Village, Tanjung Morawa, North Sumatra from October 2024 to January 2025. This study used a Split Plot Design (RPT),where the Cropping Pattern was the Main Plot and the Dose of Cow Manure was the Subplot. The results showed that the provision of organic matter (manure) had a significant effect on the weight per plot, thereby increasing the weight of grain per plot. The provision of organic matter did not have a significant effect on theobservation of the number of panicles and the root crown ratio. Therefore, it can be concluded that strategies to increase rice production should be focused on the application of technologies that can increase the weight per plot of lowland rice plants, because the provision of organic matter had a significant effect on theseparameters, although it did not significantly affect the root crown ratio or the number of panicles.
