Abstract
This research was conducted to analyze the comparative economical of rice field farmers and vaname
shrimp farmers in the teluk meku village babalan city of langkat. This type of research uses explanatory
methods. The population in this study is rice field farmers and vaname shrimp farmers. The sample in this
study numbered thirty rice field farmers who are domiciled in the teluk meku village babalan city of
langkat and thirty vaname shrimp farmers own their own land. This study used non probability sampling
with accidental sampling. Primary data collection techniques are performed by interview and
questionnaire. The data analysis technique used is the cost formula and income formula. The results of this
study prove that the cost of rice field farmers is smaller than the cost of vaname shrimp farmers and
vaname shrimp farmers income is greater than the income of rice field farmers in the teluk meku village
babalan city of langkat.
