Abstract
Menghadapi gejolak pubertas yang dialami Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus tentunya tidak mudah dan membutuhkan pengetahuan serta keterampilan khusus. Kesulitan dalam menghadapi perubahan anak sangat dirasakan oleh para orangtua. Dalam sesi FGD orangtua mengaku mengalami kesulitan dalam proses transfer akibat merasa kebingungan bagaimana cara penyampaian bahasa yang tepat ke anak karena bahasa tentang hal seksual dirasa terlalu asing bagi anak. Apabila orangtua yang tidak memiliki kesiapan dan kurang memperoleh informasi mengenai pubertas pada Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus dapat berdampak serius baik pada kondisi sosial maupun kesehatan anak mereka. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, Tim Pengabdian merancang sebuah kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat berupa pelatihan yang difokuskan untuk mengembangkan keterampilan orangtua dalam pendidikan seks anak berkebutuhan khusus dengan bekerja sama dengan SLB-E Negeri Pembina Kota Medan. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa peserta pelatihan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan mengenai materi yang diperoleh (kognitif), adanya keyakinan (afektif) dan keinginan untuk mengaplikasikan pada anak berkebutuhan khusus (psikomotor).
Dealing with the turmoil of puberty experienced by children with special needs is certainly not easy and requires special knowledge and skills. The difficulty in dealing with children's changes is felt by parents. In the FGD session, parents admitted to having difficulty in the transfer process due to confusion about how to convey the right language to children because the language about sexual matters was too unfamiliar to children. If parents are unprepared and lack information about puberty in children with special needs, it can have a serious impact on both the social and health conditions of their children. Based on this, the Service Team designed a community service activity in the form of training focused on developing parents' skills in sex education for children with special needs in collaboration with SLB-E Negeri Pembina Medan City. The evaluation results showed that the training participants showed an increase in knowledge about the material obtained (cognitive), the existence of confidence (affective) and the desire to apply it to children with special needs (psychomotor).
