Abstract

Edukasi sistem pemilahan sampah dari pasar tradisional Kepenghuluan Bagan Batu menjadi sampah organic, anorganik dan bahan berbahaya dan beracun (B3) telah dilaksanakan  bagi masyarakat  Kepenghuluan Bagan Batu, Staf Kepenghuluan Bagan Batu dan Kepala Dusun. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan lewat sosialisasi atau edukasi yang meliputi survei awal keberadaan sampah di pasar tradisional,  sosialisasi pemilahan sampah, pelatihan penggunaan alat pencacah sampah organik dan evaluasi hasil kegiatan. Pemilahan sampah ini sangat penting dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat dalam  pengelolaan sampah berkelanjutan dan  ekonomi lewat daur ulang sampah,  mengurangi  pencemaran lingkungan (climate change) dan sampah yang dibuang ke Tempat Pembuangan Akhir. Jumlah sampah organic yang dihasilkan dari dua pasar tradisional di Bagan Batu  sekitar 1500-2000 Kg setiap harinya,  dimana 80-85% sampah organic dan 15-20% sampah anorganik. Sampah organic ini sangat potensial digunakan sebagai bahan pembuatan eko enzim dan pupuk kompos. Berdasarkan evaluasi terhadap peserta sosialisasi terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan mengenai pemilahan sampah organic, anorganik dan B3.   Pengabdian ini sejalan dengan SDGs 11: kota dan pemukiman yang berkelanjutan, SDGs 12 : Konsumsi dan produksi yang bertanggung jawab dan SDGs 13: Tindakan untuk mengatasi perubahan iklim.

The seminar of waste sorting system from the traditional market of Bagan Batu Village into organic, inorganic and hazardous and toxic materials (B3) has been implemented for the community of Bagan Batu Village, Bagan Batu Village Staff and Chief of Village. This activity was carried out through socialization or education which included an initial survey of the existence of waste in the traditional market, socialization of waste sorting, training in the use of organic waste shredders and evaluation of activity results. This waste sorting is very important to increase public knowledge in sustainable and economic waste management through waste recycling, reducing environmental pollution (climate change) and waste disposed of at the Final Disposal Site. The amount of organic waste produced from the two traditional markets in Bagan Batu is around 1500-2000 Kg per day, where 80-85% is organic waste and 15-20% is inorganic waste. This organic waste has great potential to be used as a material for making eco-enzymes and compost fertilizer. Based on the evaluation of the socialization participants, there was an increase in knowledge regarding the sorting of organic, inorganic and B3 waste. This service is in line with SDGs 11: Sustainable cities and human settlements, SDGs 12: Responsible consumption and production and SDGs 13: Action to address climate change.
