Abstract

Once revered for its beauty, the Ciliwung River in Jakarta now grapples with the grim reality of degradation caused by pollution. Its negative impacts are not only felt on the river ecosystem itself but also on the biodiversity thriving within it. However, amidst this environmental crisis, the concept of responsibility emerges as a beacon of hope. Through environmental preservation, we aim to replant native vegetation, clean up waste, and preserve a healthy river ecosystem. Environmentally friendly design will utilize recycled materials to construct facilities and decorations around the Ciliwung River, ensuring that the built infrastructure does not disrupt the river's natural beauty. By envisioning the Ciliwung River as a destination harmonious with nature, we can attract visitors while maintaining the delicate balance of its ecosystem. Nighttime beauty will be emphasized by using energy-efficient lighting to illuminate bridges and surrounding areas, creating an enticing atmosphere without disturbing local wildlife. Additionally, this project will serve as a platform to promote environmental awareness by educating the public about the importance of preserving nature and our responsibility as visitors to sustain the Ciliwung River. In conclusion, this article advocates for a paradigm shift towards responsible tourism as the key to revitalizing the Ciliwung River. By combining environmental stewardship with economic prosperity, we can ensure that future generations inherit a river that is not only beautiful but also abundant with its ecological richness.
