Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors that encourage and inhibit the development of Pangambaten Tourism Village.
The development strategy carried out by the Government of Karo Regency in developing Pangambaten Tourism
Village and How big is the contribution of Pangambaten Tourism Village to Karo Regency Regional Original Income.
The type of research used is quantitative research. The researcher will describe the situation in the field and propose a
development strategy as a recommendation material for the Regional Government. This research uses SWOT analysis.
The population in this study is all people who carry out tourism activities in Pangambaten Tourism Village in 2021.
The sample in this study uses the incidental random sampling method. To find out the size of the sample to be used in
this study, the slovin approach formula was used with a sample of 100 respondents. The results of the study show that
in the Grand Strategy Matrix, it can be seen that the position of the development of the tourism sector in Pangambaten
Tourism Village is in the Growth Strategy position, namely making optimal use of the strengths and opportunities it
has. The diagram shows that the intersection point (1.4; 0.91) is in quadrant I, where this situation can be carried out by
taking advantage of strengths and opportunities in order to increase the growth of Pangambaten Tourism Village. The
average contribution of Pangambaten Tourism Village to Regional Original Income for 2017-2021 is 0.0080802%. The
suggestion in this research is to increase the use of information technology (Social Media) to introduce and promote
tourism potentials to the wider community. Increase accessibility to tourist objects and tourist attractions in
Pangambaten Tourism Village.
