The Impact of The Existence of The Medan Mabar Industrial Area on Economic and Social Development of The Community and The Industrial Environment

Abstract

The progress of the Indonesian economy is currently supported by several sectors, one of which is the industrial sector that always continues to grow. The existence of industrial estates in several regions certainly has many positive and negative impacts in the social, economic and environmental fields. This study aims to analyze the impact of the Industrial Area of Medan Mabar to the Economic & Social Development Society and Environment Around the Industry in 2023 by using Quantitative Descriptive Analysis. By using the Purposive Sampling Method, this study uses primary data with questionnaires and observations of 50 respondents who live in Village Mabar.The results of this research show that the existence of an Industrial Area of Medan Mabar able to increase the per capita income of the people in the Village Mabar, increasing the provision of education and health facilities and improve patterns of social
interaction between communities, but has a negative impact on environmental conditions, namely water pollution and air pollution
