Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of pocket money, lifestyle and peer friendship environment on consumptive behaviour in students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of North Sumatra. The method used in this study is to use an associative and quantitative approach. The population in this study were all undergraduate students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of North Sumatra, totalling 648 people, and the sample was 87 people. The research instrument was in the form of a test. Data collection tools were used. Data collection tools used questionnaires and library research. In this study, the data analysis technique used is quantitative data analysis and uses the Statistical Path Analysis Method model, namely Partial Least Square (PLS). The results show that pocket money has a significant effect on consumptive behaviour, lifestyle has a significant effect on consumptive behaviour, and peer friendship environment has a significant effect on consumptive behaviour.
