Abstract
Tulisan ini mendiskusikan tentang pengaruh kepopuleran anime One Piece, Naruto, dan Bleach yang disebut sebagai The Big Three yang merupakan anime dan manga yang sangat popular serta memiliki jumlah episode yang panjang pada era tahun 2000-an di dunia terkhusus di Indonesia. Kepopuleran anime The Big Three tersebut pun memunculkan berbagai macam produk seperti action figure, pernak-pernik bergambar, kaos, sepatu, bahkan film yang diputar di bioskop. Sehingga platform layanan streaming video yang ada di Indonesia pun menayangkan anime tersebut. Tulisan ini ingin melihat kepopuleran dan penerimaan anime The Big Three pada masyarakat sehingga metode yang dilakukan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan membagikan angket kepada responden sebagai sumber data yang kemudian dianalisis melalui analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Menariknya beberapa platform layanan streaming video yang ada di Indonesia merupakan layanan berbayar sehingga apabila masyarakat ingin menonton ketiga anime tersebut maka tak jarang mereka harus berlangganan platform tesebut. Penelitian ini ingin menjelaskan bahwa kepopuleran anime The Big Three tersebut mempengaruhi minat menonton masyarakat sehingga selain memanfaatkan situs menonton tidak resmi, mereka juga memilih untuk berlangganan premium platform layanan streaming tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jalan cerita, gambar yang menarik serta penggemar sudah mengikuti anime The Big Three tersebut dari kecil, dan tak jarang juga ketiga anime tersebut menjadi trending topik di media sosial yang membuat masyarakat antusias untuk menonton ketiga anine tersebut bahkan jika harus berlangganan melalui platform layanan streaming video tersebut.
This paper discusses the influence of the popularity of the anime One Piece, Naruto, and Bleach called The Big Three, the anime and manga that are very popular and have many episodes worldwide, especially in Indonesia. They first started in the 2000s. The popularity of The Big Three has also given rise to various kinds of products such as action figures, pictorial knick-knacks, t-shirts, shoes, and even movie adaptations. The video streaming platforms in Indonesia also broadcast anime due to its popularity. Interestingly, several video streaming platforms in Indonesia are paid services, so if people want to watch the three anime, they must subscribe to these platforms. This research explains that the popularity of The Big Three influences people's viewing rate so that apart from using unofficial streaming sites, they also choose to subscribe to the premium video streaming platform. This paper wants to clarify the popularity and acceptance of The Big Three anime in society. Therefore, the method used is qualitative research by distributing questionnaires to respondents as a source of data which then the writers analyzed through qualitative descriptive analysis. The research results show that the storyline, attractive animations, and fans have followed The Big Three anime from a young age. They even often become trending topics on social media which makes people enthusiastic about watching them even if they have to pay to subscribe to the video streaming platforms.
