Abstract

Dalam penerapan LSF, kehadiran rema dalam analisis keberterusan topik dapat berakibat pada analisis yang sangat kompleks. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaksimalkan peran tema dalam analisis keberterusan topik. Beberapa peneliti menyarankan bahwa kehadiran rema dalam analisis keberterusan topik seharusnya diabaikan. Untuk alasan ini, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis keberterusan topik dalam berita ‘Skyscraper of waste, Greater Jakarta drowning in mountain of trash’. Peneliti menerapkan teknik yang dikembangkan oleh Leong untuk menganalisis keberterusan topik dengan hanya menggunakan tema dalam klausa. Hasilnya, ditemukan tiga topik yang paling dominan dengan nilai yang sama (19.35%) dari data. Lebih lanjut lagi, teks ini memiliki nilai TDI yang tinggi, yakni 3.44.

 

In SFL application, the presence of rheme in topic continuity research makes a very complex analysis. This study seeks to maximize the role of themes in the analysis of thematic progression. Some researchers suggest that the presence of rhemes in thematic progression can be ignored. For this reason, the purpose of this study is to analyze the sustainability of the topic in the news ‘Skyscraper of waste, Greater Jakarta drowning in mountains of trash’. The researcher applies Leong’s approach to verify the thematic progression analysis method with only applying themes in the analysis. It was found that there were 3 dominant topics with the same score (19.35%) in the source text. Furthermore, this text has a fairly high TDI value of 3.44.
