Identification of the Role of Supply Chain in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) of Medan

Abstract

Usaha Mikro Kecil dan Menengah perkembangannya sudah semakain maju, terbukti dengan terus meningkatnya usaha – usaha baru dalam bidang tersebut. Sumatera Utara juga menajadi salah satu daerah yang memiliki UMKM yang cukup banyak. Hal itu berdasarkan dari beberapa daerah di Sumatera Utara yang juga memiliki jumlah UMKM yang tidak sedikit, salah satunya adalah Kota Medan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengiedentifikasi rantai pasok dan masalah yang dihadapi. Hasil dari penelitian ini ditemukan adalah UMKM kota medan terlalu terpaku hanya pada satu jenis pemasok dan masih banyak UMKM yang belum bisa memanfaatkan teknologi sebagai sarana pemasaran untuk produk mereka.

The development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises has been progressing, as evidenced by the continued increase in new businesses in the field. North Sumatra is also one of the regions that has quite a lot of MSMEs. It was based on several regions in North Sumatra that also had a number of MSMEs that were not small, one of which was the city of Medan. This study aims to identify supply chains and the problems faced. The results of this study found that MSME Medan City is too fixated on only one type of supplier and there are still many MSMEs that have not been able to use technology as a marketing tool for their products.
