Abstract
PT.
PT. ABC, engaged in palm oil processing, utilizes a sterilizer machine as a critical component in its production process. The machine’s effectiveness directly impacts productivity and the quality of the output. This study aims to analyze the sterilizer’s effectiveness using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method and identify factors causing performance decline through the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) approach. OEE measures three key aspects: availability, performance, and quality. Data were collected through field observations and historical records. The results show an average OEE value of 78.45%, which remains below the world-class standard of 85%. Causes of reduced machine effectiveness were identified using a fishbone diagram, covering human factors, work methods, machinery, and environment. Strategic recommendations include implementing TPM pillars such as autonomous maintenance and preventive maintenance to enhance machine performance and overall productivity.
