Abstract
PT. XYZ adalah perusahaan dalam industri pengolahan buah kelapa sawit. Perusahaan ini memproduksi Crude Palm Oil (CPO) dan Palm Kernel, dengan kapasitas 60 ton Tandan Buah Segar (TBS) per jam, yang menunjukkan skala operasional yang cukup besar dalam industri kelapa sawit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan metode 5S di pabrik kelapa sawit PT. XYZ guna mengidentifikasi ketidaksesuaian di stasiun kerja, menemukan penyebabnya, serta memberikan rekomendasi perbaikan. Berdasarkan observasi langsung di lantai produksi, ditemukan beberapa ketidaksesuaian dengan prinsip 5S, seperti peletakan barang pribadi yang tidak pada tempatnya, genangan air, peralatan kerja yang tidak tersusun rapi, tumpukan sampah, dan tumpahan minyak. Hasil rekapitulasi awal menunjukkan bahwa tingkat penerapan 5S berada pada kisaran 41–60%, yang dikategorikan cukup, dan memerlukan peningkatan, terutama pada elemen seiri dan seiketsu. Setelah diterapkan rekomendasi perbaikan, hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan ke kisaran 81–100%, yang termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan rekomendasi perbaikan efektif dan perlu dipertahankan untuk meningkatkan kinerja perusahaan.
PT XYZ is a company in the palm fruit processing industry. The company produces Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and Palm Kernel, with a capacity of 60 tons of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) per hour, which indicates a fairly large operational scale in the palm oil industry. This study aims to analyze the application of the 5S method at the PT XYZ palm oil mill to identify non-conformities at workstations, find their causes, and provide recommendations for improvement. Based on direct observation on the production floor, several non-conformities with 5S principles were found, such as the placement of personal belongings out of place, puddles of water, work equipment that was not neatly arranged, piles of garbage, and oil spills. The initial recapitulation results showed that the level of 5S implementation was in the range of 41-60%, which was categorized as sufficient, and required improvement, especially in the seiri and seiketsu elements. After implementing the improvement recommendations, the evaluation results showed an increase to the range of 81-100%, which is categorized as excellent. This shows that the implementation of improvement recommendations is effective and needs to be maintained to improve the company's performance.
