Abstract
Penelitian ini membahas evaluasi kinerja mesin sterilizer di PT XYZ menggunakan metode Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Mesin sterilizer yang berperan vital dalam proses pengolahan minyak kelapa sawit sering mengalami kerusakan dan downtime yang tinggi, menghambat produktivitas perusahaan. Berdasarkan perhitungan OEE, nilai mesin sterilizer hanya mencapai 48,26%, jauh di bawah standar industri kelas dunia yang diharapkan mencapai lebih dari 85%. Elemen kunci yang mempengaruhi rendahnya pencapaian OEE meliputi rendahnya ketersediaan mesin, rendahnya efisiensi kinerja, serta ketidaksesuaian dengan prosedur operasional standar (SOP). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi penyebab utama rendahnya nilai OEE dan memberikan rekomendasi perbaikan. Analisis lebih lanjut menggunakan diagram fishbone menunjukkan bahwa penyebab utama berasal dari empat faktor: manusia, material, mesin, dan metode. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, diagram afinitas digunakan untuk mengelompokkan penyebab yang terkait dan merumuskan solusi yang meliputi peningkatan pelatihan operator, perbaikan pemilihan material, pemeliharaan mesin yang lebih rutin, serta penyesuaian SOP. Dengan implementasi rekomendasi ini, diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kinerja mesin sterilizer, mengurangi downtime, dan pada akhirnya memperbaiki nilai OEE perusahaan secara keseluruhan.
This study discusses the performance evaluation of the sterilizer machine at PT XYZ using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method. The sterilizer machine, which plays a vital role in the palm oil processing line, frequently experiences breakdowns and high downtime, thereby hindering the company’s productivity. Based on the OEE calculation, the machine's effectiveness score reached only 48.26%, which is significantly below the world-class industry standard of over 85%. Key elements contributing to the low OEE include poor machine availability, low performance efficiency, and non-compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs). This study aims to identify the root causes of the low OEE score and provide improvement recommendations. Further analysis using a fishbone diagram reveals that the primary causes stem from four main factors: manpower, materials, machine, and methods. To address these issues, an affinity diagram was used to categorize the related causes and develop corresponding solutions, including improved operator training, better material selection, more routine machine maintenance, and SOP adjustments. With the implementation of these recommendations, the performance of the sterilizer machine is expected to improve, downtime can be reduced, and the overall OEE of the company can be enhanced.
