Penerapan Line Balancing pada Proses Produksi Ragum Menggunakan Metode Region Approach dan Metode Largest Candidate Rule (LCR)

Abstract

Efisiensi dalam proses produksi sangat penting untuk meningkatkan produktivitas dan menekan biaya operasional, khususnya dalam industri manufaktur. Salah satu pendekatan yang digunakan untuk mencapai efisiensi tersebut adalah melalui penerapan metode line balancing atau penyeimbangan lintasan produksi. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada proses perakitan ragum di salah satu perusahaan manufaktur, dengan tujuan untuk menentukan metode penyeimbangan lintasan yang paling efektif antara Region Approach dan Largest Candidate Rule (LCR). Data yang digunakan meliputi 105 elemen kerja beserta waktu standar dan hubungan antar elemen. Kedua metode kemudian diterapkan dan dibandingkan berdasarkan parameter-parameter seperti jumlah stasiun kerja, balance delay, efisiensi lintasan, idle time, dan smoothing index. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa metode LCR lebih unggul dalam mengefisienkan lintasan produksi dengan hanya menggunakan 13 stasiun kerja, dibandingkan 14 pada metode Region Approach. LCR juga mencatat nilai balance delay sebesar 5,97%, efisiensi lintasan 93,98%, waktu menganggur 1902 detik, dan smoothing index 1426,5353. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, metode LCR direkomendasikan sebagai alternatif terbaik dalam optimalisasi lini perakitan ragum.

Efficiency in production processes is crucial for improving productivity and reducing operational costs, especially in the manufacturing industry. One effective approach to achieve such efficiency is through the implementation of line balancing methods. This study was conducted on the assembly process of bench vises in a manufacturing company, aiming to determine the most effective line balancing method between the Region Approach and the Largest Candidate Rule (LCR). The data used consisted of 105 work elements along with their standard times and precedence relationships. Both methods were applied and compared based on key performance indicators such as the number of workstations, balance delay, line efficiency, idle time, and smoothing index. The results showed that the LCR method outperformed the Region Approach by using only 13 workstations, compared to 14 in the Region Approach. Furthermore, LCR achieved a balance delay of 5.97%, a line efficiency of 93.98%, an idle time of 1902 seconds, and a smoothing index of 1426.5353. Based on these findings, the LCR method is recommended as the more optimal alternative for balancing the assembly line of bench vises.
