Abstract
Penelitian ini diarahkan untuk mencapai maksud berupa perancangan dan pengembangan produk Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) dengan pendekatan survei pasar. Survei dilakukan untuk memahami kebutuhan dan harapan konsumen guna menghasilkan produk yang optimal. Pendekatan kuantitatif yang diaplikasikan, yaitu teknik pengumpulan data berupa kuesioner terbuka dan tertutup. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 39 responden yang ditentukan melalui metode Harry King. Hasil survei menunjukkan bahwa atribut utama produk Vertical Axis Wind Turbine meliputi warna hitam, berat 1–2 kg, lebar baling-baling 25 cm, panjang baling-baling 100 cm, daya generator 500 watt, bentuk baling-baling heliks dengan 2 daun, tinggi tiang 100 cm, serta material utama berupa limbah plastik PET. Kuesioner tertutup digunakan untuk membandingkan produk ini dengan tiga pesaing sejenis. Hasil pemeringkatan menunjukkan bahwa produk Vertical Axis Wind Turbine kelompok II B mendapat peringkat pertama dengan 15 responden. Pengujian validitas dilakukan menggunakan rumus Product Moment Pearson, sedangkan reliabilitas diuji dengan menggunakan Alpha Cronbach dengan taraf signifikansi 5%. Hasil pengujian menyatakan bahwa instrumen penelitian valid dan reliabel. Dengan demikian, produk yang dirancang memenuhi ekspektasi konsumen dan memiliki daya saing di pasar.
This research is directed toward achieving the goal of designing and developing a Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) product using a market survey approach. The survey was conducted to gain insights into consumer needs and expectations in order to produce an optimal product. A quantitative approach was applied, utilizing both open-ended and closed-ended questionnaires for data collection. The research sample consisted of 39 respondents, selected using the Harry King method. Survey results revealed that the key attributes of the Vertical Axis Wind Turbine include a black color, weight of 1–2 kg, blade width of 25 cm, blade length of 100 cm, generator capacity of 500 watts, helical blade shape with two blades, tower height of 100 cm, and the primary material made from recycled PET plastic waste. The closed-ended questionnaire was used to compare this product with three competing alternatives. Ranking results indicated that the Vertical Axis Wind Turbine from Group II B ranked first, receiving preference from 15 respondents. Validity testing was conducted using the Pearson Product Moment formula, while reliability was assessed using Cronbach’s Alpha at a 5% significance level. The results confirmed that the research instrument was both valid and reliable. Therefore, the designed product meets consumer expectations and possesses competitiveness in the market.
