Abstract
The rapid development of technology and the increasing mobility of modern society are driving the demand for smarter, more automated and environmentally friendly household devices. One of the main needs is a cleaning device that is not only efficient but also able to perform several functions at once independently. In response to this need, a 3 in 1 Robotic Vacuum Cleaner product was developed that is capable of vacuuming, mopping, and lifting garbage in one device. The design process was carried out systematically using the Nigel Cross method, which is known to be effective in designing products based on user needs. Stages in the design include clarifying objectives using Objectives Tree, determining functions using Black Box System approach, identifying needs through 5W+1H analysis, and determining technical characteristics using Quality Function Deployment (QFD). The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method was applied to systematically prioritize each attribute, while the Morphological Chart was used to identify and develop various design alternatives. Data was obtained through brainstorming and questionnaires to 37 respondents. Results showed that 70% of the attributes were classified as wish, indicating conformity with consumer preferences. The designed product stands out in functional features, app-based control, as well as the use of recycled materials. When compared to similar products, the device has advantages in almost all aspects. With a moderate level of technical difficulty and efficient production costs, the Nigel Cross method proved capable of producing innovative, sustainable and competitive designs.
