Abstract
This research aims to design and develop the innovative product VibeSync Clock using Nigel Cross's seven-step method. The product is a multifunctional clock featuring a speaker and an automatic air freshener, designed in an eco-friendly manner using corn cob waste. Nigel Cross's method was chosen for its ability to systematically guide the design process, starting from goal clarification and function determination through black box analysis to the formulation of technical requirements. Characteristic determination was carried out using the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) concept. Design alternatives were developed using a Morphological Chart and evaluated with a Gantt chart. Evaluation results indicated that the design from Group IX/C was the best option. The development stage included cost evaluation by replacing expensive components with more economical alternatives without compromising function or quality. The initial production cost of IDR 446,625 was successfully reduced to IDR 306,625. This study demonstrates that the Nigel Cross method is effective in producing a functional, aesthetic, sustainable product that meets the needs of modern, environmentally conscious consumers.
