Penerapan Metode Nigel Cross pada Perancangan Produk Portable Hand Massager with Thermal Therapy

Abstract

Salah satu jenis neuropati yang paling umum adalah yang disebabkan oleh jebakan saraf, jenis sindrom ini dapat dimanifestasikan berdasarkan lokasi keterlibatan dan saraf yang terlibat sebagai Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Terdapat beberapa gejala yang akan timbul seperti nyeri, pusing, mati rasa, kesemutan, sensasi terbakar. Maka, dirancanglah produk Portable Hand Massager with Thermal Therapy yang berfungsi untuk meredakan rasa sakit yang terkait, serta memberikan efek relaksasi bagi pengguna. Perancangan produk Portable Hand Massager with Thermal Therapy dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Nigel Cross yang terdiri 7 langkah, yaitu pada tahapan klarifikasi tujuan menghasilkan pohon tujuan, pada tahapan penetapan fungsi menghasilkan diagram black box, pada tahapan menyusun kebutuhan menghasilkan wish berjumlah 9 dan demand berjumlah 1 sehingga W > D, pada tahapan penentuan karakteristik menghasilkan Quality Function Deployment (QFD), pada tahapan penentuan alternatif menghasilkan 3 alternatif spesifikasi produk, pada tahapan evaluasi alternatif menghasilkan gantt chart dengan luas gap paling kecil pada produk, dan pada tahapan komunikasi menghasilkan harga akhir yaitu sebesar Rp 789.350. Tujuan dilakukannya perancangan produk dengan metode Nigel Cross ialah dapat membuat rancangan produk sesuai keinginan dan kebutuhan konsumen serta spesifikasi akhir, material, fungsi, dan biaya dapat diperlihatkan sehingga dapat memuaskan konsumen

There are several symptoms that will arise such as pain, dizziness, numbness, tingling, burning sensation, and reduced hand sensitivity.  So, the Portable Hand Massager with Thermal Therapy product was designed which functions to relieve the associated pain, as well as providing a relaxing effect for the user.  The design of the Portable Hand Massager with Thermal Therapy product was carried out using the Nigel Cross method which consists of 7 steps, namely at the goal clarification stage producing a goal tree, at the function determination stage producing a black box diagram, at the composing needs stage producing 9 wishes and 1 demand so that  W > D, at the characteristic determination stage it produces Quality Function Deployment (QFD), at the alternative determination stage it produces 3 alternative product specifications, at the alternative evaluation stage it produces a gantt chart with the smallest gap area for product, and at the communication stage it produces the final price  in making products, namely IDR 789,350.  The aim of designing products using the Nigel Cross method is to be able to create a product design according to the desires and needs of consumers and the final specifications, materials, functions and costs can be shown so that consumers
