Abstract
PT XYZ merupakan pabrik kelapa sawit di Sumatera Utara yang bergerak dalam pengolahan Tandan Buah Segar (TBS) menjadi Crude Palm Oil (CPO) dan kernel. Dalam mengolah TBS tersebut, pabrik ini menggunakan beberapa mesin produksi, salah satunya adalah mesin sterilizer. Pabrik ini memiliki enam unit mesin sterilizer yang digunakan secara bergantian dengan sistem paralel. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan, salah satu mesin sterilizer kerap mengalami downtime sehingga harus dilakukan corrective maintenance. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan preventive maintenance guna menghemat biaya maintenance dengan metode Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) dan Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM). Hasilnya, pabrik harus menerapkan preventive maintenance dengan interval waktu sekitar 288 jam untuk komponen Exhaust Pipe untuk dapat menghemat Rp8.994.394 atau sebesar 82,17% dan sekitar 93 jam untuk komponen Valve Control untuk dapat menghemat Rp14.118.601 atau sebesar 78,12% setiap bulannya terhadap downtime yang disebabkan oleh kedua komponen tersebut.
PT XYZ is a palm oil mill in North Sumatra engaged in processing Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) into Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and kernels. In processing the FFB, this factory uses several production machines, one of which is a sterilizer machine. This factory has six units of sterilizer machines that are used alternately with a parallel system. Based on observations, one of the sterilizer machines often experiences downtime so that corrective maintenance must be carried out. This study aims to analyze the application of preventive maintenance to save maintenance costs using the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) methods. As a result, the factory must implement preventive maintenance with an interval of about 288 hours for the Exhaust Pipe component to save Rp8,994,394 or 82.17% and about 93 hours for the Valve Control component to save Rp14,118,601 or 78.12% each month against downtime caused by the two components.
