Abstract

Desain ulang diperlukan ketika timbul masalah selama fungsi produk. Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) digunakan untuk meminimalkan jumlah komponen penghubung. Pada desain usulan, lubang mur pada body cover diubah menjadi konsep snap-fit locking sehingga menjadi satu kesatuan dengan bagian body cover. Konsep snap-fit mengurangi waktu perakitan meningkatkan efisiensi perakitan, dan menurunkan biaya perakitan.

Redesign is required when issues arise during functioning of the product. Mixer is an electrical appliance used to stir dough in culinary industry. The dynamo transforms electrical energy into mechanical energy to drive the stirrer and gears at a fast pace. Redesigning the mixer product is necessary since vibrations from the stirrer's movement weaken the nut connection and make it fall off more easily. In mixer goods, Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) is utilized to minimize the amount of connecting components. The nut hole on the body cover is changed to a snap-fit locking concept with printing features so that it becomes an integral part of the body cover part. The snap-fit concept reduces assembly time from 227.11 seconds to 209.92 seconds, increases assembly efficiency from 39.62% to 40.02%, and reduces assembly costs from IDR 758.25 to IDR 740.56.
