Penentuan Tindakan Perbaikan Proses Pembuatan Komponen Jadi Produk Garden Furniture Menggunakan Root Cause Analysis

Abstract

Industri furnitur tumbuh menjadi salah satu penopang pertumbuhan ekonomi di Indonesia. Variasi bahan baku dan produk yang bersifat customized memberi tantangan tersendiri bagi industri manufaktur. Banyak ditemui komponen hasil proses manufaktur yang cacat sebagaimana yang terjadi di sebuah industri produsen furnitur yang berlokasi di Klaten, Jawa tengah, khususnya untuk komponen produk garden furniture yang diproses pada Stasiun Kerja Mill 2. Memperhatikan hal tersebut, penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk mengidentifikasi akar masalah penyebab kecacatan dan mengusulkan tindakan perbaikan untuk mengurangi tingkat kecacatan komponen tersebut. Metode yang digunakan meliputi cause and effect diagram dan root cause analysis dengan pendekatan 5W+1H. Berdasarkan hasil analisis yang dilakukan, diusulkan tindakan perbaikan di antaranya adalah penyusunan Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) pengoperasian mesin bandsaw, SOP penataan dan pembersihan meja kerja, dan modifikasi mold komponen dengan menambahkan alat jepit. Kedua SOP yang diusulkan telah disusun dan diterapkan oleh perusahaan, tetapi belum dilakukan evaluasi. Penelitian selanjutnya dapat difokuskan untuk mengevaluasi dampak dari diterapkannya tindakan perbaikan terhadap tingkat kecacatan komponen dan produktivitas perusahaan. Selain itu, modifikasi alat mold komponen juga perlu segera direalisasikan mengingat alat ini memiliki fungsi yang signifikan di dalam pembentukan komponen sesuai standar.

The furniture industry has become one of Indonesia's economic growth pillars. The diverse raw materials and customized products provide challenges for the manufacturing industry. Many components resulting from manufacturing are defective, as happened in a furniture manufacturing company in Klaten, Central Java, especially for garden furniture product components processed at Mill 2 Work Station. Accordingly, this study intends to identify the root causes of defects and propose corrective actions to reduce the defects in these components. The methods applied in this study comprised cause and effect diagrams and root cause analysis with the 5W+1H approach. Based on the analysis results, the proposed corrective actions include preparing a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the operation of a bandsaw machine, an SOP for setting up and cleaning a workbench, and modifying component molds by adding clamps. The company has prepared and implemented the two proposed SOPs but has not yet been evaluated. Future research can be focused on evaluating the impact of implementing corrective actions on the level of component defects and company productivity. In addition, modification of the component mold tool also needs to be realized immediately, considering that this tool has a significant function in forming components according to the standards.
