Tinjauan Literatur Teknologi Identifikasi RFID dan QR-Code sebagai Alat Pendukung Aliran Informasi di Dunia Industri

Abstract

Penelitian ini memberikan tinjauan literatur tentang teknologi identifikasi sebagai alat pendukung aliran informasi di dunia industri.  Aliran informasi memiliki peran penting dalam supply chain/ rantai pasok. Supply chain dalam hal ini mencakup seluruh aktivitas mulai dari perencanaan, pengadaan bahan baku, produksi, distribusi, hingga pemasaran produk atau jasa. Dalam supply chain, aliran informasi perlu dikelola dengan baik agar dapat meningkatkan efisiensi dan efektivitas operasi. Paper ini memberikan tinjauan literatur tentang teknologi identifikasi (Auto-ID) sebagai alat pendukung aliran informasi di dunia industri. Tujuan paper ini memberikan gambaran umum tentang teknologi Auto-ID khususnya Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) dan Quick Response Code (QR Code), serta pengaplikasiannya dalam dunia industri yang didapatkan dari beberapa referensi baik buku, jurnal maupun paper dengan berbagai jenis antara lain barcode system, biometric MM, RFID, smart cards, optical character recognition (OCR). Auto-ID yang banyak digunakan saat ini dalam dunia industri adalah RFID dan QR Code.  Baik RFID maupun QR Code memiliki keunggulan masing-masing. RFID memiliki ketahanan terhadap debu/kotor, dapat menyimpan informasi dalam jumlah besar dan memiliki jangkauan pembacaan antara data carrier dan reader yang paling jauh diantara Auto-ID lainnya.Oleh karena itu penggunaan RFID maupun QR Code sebagai untuk teknologi mendukung aliran informasi pada supply chain dalam dunia industri perlu mempertimbangkan kondisi lingkungan dan kebutuhan tiap masing-masing industri.

This study provides a literature review on identification technology as a supporting tool for information flow in the industrial world. Information flow plays a crucial role in the supply chain. The supply chain encompasses activities such as planning, raw material procurement, production, distribution, and product or service marketing. In order to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness, information flow in the supply chain needs to be well-managed. This paper offers a literature review on identification technology (Auto-ID) as a supporting tool for information flow in the industrial world. The objective of this paper is to provide a general overview of Auto-ID technology, specifically Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and Quick Response Code (QR Code), and their applications in the industrial world based on various references including books, journals, and papers covering different types of technologies such as barcode systems, biometric MM, RFID, smart cards, and optical character recognition (OCR). Currently, RFID and QR Code are widely used Auto-ID technologies in the industrial world. Both RFID and QR Code have their own advantages. RFID is resistant to dust/dirt, can store a large amount of information, and has the longest reading range between data carriers and readers compared to other Auto-ID technologies. Therefore, the use of RFID or QR Code as technologies to support information flow in the supply chain within the industrial world needs to consider environmental conditions and the specific needs of each industry.
