Perancangan Chest Vibrator untuk Penderita Penyakit Paru Obstruktif Kronik

Abstract

Penyakit Paru Obstruktif Kronik (PPOK) merupakan sebuah penyakit kronik pada pernapasn yang dapat mengakibatkan penyumbatan pada jalur pernapasan dengan gejala turunnya kadar udara yang berkesinambungan. Beberapa tanda yang muncul pada penderita paru obstruktif, antara lain sesak napas, batuk, serta produksi sputum yang berlebihan yang diakibatkan oleh infeksi pada saluran pernapasan. Penyakit ini masih dapat diatasi, namun jika disertai dengan terjadinya pemburukan pernapasan dan disertai penyakit lain maka kondisi pasien akan lebih parah. Oleh sebab itu dibutuhkan suatu alat untuk membantu pasien dalam bernapas. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk merancang sebuah alat terapi pernapasan dada bagi penderita PPOK. Dalam pembuatan desain produk digunakan metode brainstorming yang berfungsi untuk menentukan fungsi dari produk tersebut, kemudian mengambil kesimpulan dari brainstorming. Brainstorming merupakan proses mencari ide penyelesaian atas masalah tertentu dengan menggabungkan seluruh ide yang diberikan oleh setiap anggota dalam suatu kelompok secara langsung dalam waktu singkat. Hasil dari brainstorming untuk produk Chest Vibrator ini memiliki 7 fungsi utama dan 3 fungsi tambahan, yaitu warna yang digunakan putih, bahan plastik, dimensi 20 cm x 10 cm x 15 cm, sumber energi listrik/baterai, material pegangan plastik, motif polos, jenis baterai AAA (powerbank), fungsi tambahan berupa penambahan alat untuk suction, gel balsem untuk penghangat, dan tombol on/off.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a chronic respiratory disease which can result in obstruction of the airways with symptoms of a continuous decrease in air levels. Some of the signs that appear in people with obstructive pulmonary disease include shortness of breath, coughing, and excessive sputum production caused by infection in the respiratory tract. This disease can still be overcome, but if it is accompanied by worsening breathing and accompanied by other diseases, the patient's condition will be more severe. Therefore we need a tool to help patients breathe. The purpose of this study was to design a chest breathing therapy device for COPD patients. In making product designs, the brainstorming method is used to determine the function of the product, then draw conclusions from the brainstorming. Brainstorming is the process of finding solutions to a particular problem by combining all the ideas given by each member in a group directly in a short time. The results of the brainstorming for this Chest Vibrator product have 7 main functions and 3 additional functions, namely the color used is white, plastic material, dimensions 20 cm x 10 cm x 15 cm, source of electrical energy/battery, plastic handle material, plain motif, type AAA battery (power bank), additional functions in the form of adding a tool for suction, balm gel for heating, and on/off button.
