Abstract
Bleaching earth (BE) merupakan bahan penolong pada kegiatan pemucatan minyak kelapas sawit (CPO). CPO tersusun dari 2 penyusun utama yaitu trigliserida terdiri dari ester dan gliserol dan nontrigliserida terdirid ari asam lemak bebas dan kandungan lainnya. Prose penambahan BE yang dilaksanakan pada tangka cleacher (D202) maka pigmen merah akan memcutkan betakaroten. Warna awal CPO= 20/20 menjadi 17/20, penggunaan BE memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap kualitas dan kestabilan minyak DPBO dengan dosis yang digunakan dalam kisaran 0,6% - 1,4%. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan menganalisis warna DPBO setelah melalui proses percobaan dengan dosis BE 0,6% -1,4% dengan nilai flowrate 83300 kg/jam. Sehingga melalui analisis regresi, diperoleh nilai dosis BE yang tepat dan sesuai standar perusahaan yaitu sebesar 1%.
Bleaching earth (BE) is an auxiliary material in palm oil (CPO) bleaching activities. CPO is composed of 2 main constituents, namely triglycerides consisting of esters and glycerol and non-triglycerides consisting of free fatty acids and other ingredients. The process of adding BE which is carried out on the cleacher tank (D202) then the red pigment will cut beta-carotene. The initial color of CPO = 20/20 becomes 17/20, the use of BE has a significant effect on the quality and stability of DPBO oil with doses used in the range of 0.6% - 1.4%. The research was carried out by analyzing the color of DPBO after going through a trial process with a BE dose of 0.6% -1.4% with a flow rate of 83300 kg/hour. So that through regression analysis, the correct BE dose value is obtained and according to company standards, namely 1%.
