Abstract
Batik is a typical Indonesian culture that has been known since ancient times and has been passed down from generation to generation. Line balancing is a series of work stations (machines and equipment) used in product manufacturing. The line balancing method is used to balance the assignment of several work elements from an assembly line to work stations to minimize the number of work stations and minimize the total waiting time (idle time). The problem of production line imbalance is also found in Langgan Batik & Souvenir, namely the accumulation of goods in the production flow (bottleneck). It is necessary to balance the production line at work stations using the Line Balancing method, namely the Kilbridge Wester and Ranked Positional Weight (RPW) methods. The goal to be achieved is to obtain an efficient track balance model design (number of stations and work element allocation). The plan to reduce delay time is to arrange a balanced production line. To set up a balanced production track, it is necessary to group work stations. The best application of track balance is the Ranked Positional Weight method because it can increase efficiency from 50.62% to 91.11% and reduce balance delay from 49.38% to 8.89%.
