Abstract
In the midst of increasingly fierce company competition, companies must be able to compete, one way is to improve product quality so that the level of customer satisfaction is higher. This research was conducted at the ABC Cooperative which produces green beans. In 2019, the highest percentage of defective products reached 18%, therefore researchers will analyze the causes of defects in coffee beans using cause and effect diagrams and FMEA (failure mode and effect analysis) methods. Based on the cause and effect diagram, it can be seen that there are 4 main factors that cause defects in coffee beans. Based on the FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) method, it is known that the factors that cause defects in coffee beans are raw materials, the environment, machines and humans. By analysis using the FMEA method, it is found that the raw material factor will be a priority for improvement in the next quality control.
