Abstract

PT.

PT. XYZ is a company that focuses on transportation’s tire manufacturing sector. Inside the plant there are still few processes that must be done by human works. One of which is in steelastic area, creel room whose function is to do the wire weaving so that it will mixed with compound to produce breaker or belt in tire component. The workers also called wire loader. There are so many manual handling activities that wire loader do but the work posture still lacking. The aim of this study is to analyze ergonomic risk that is correlated with work postures with Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) and Quick Exposures Checklist (QEC) method. Based on the analysis with both methods, found that 10 out of 13 postures are high risk postures with RULA score of 7, whilst 2 of them have a score of 6 and 1 of them has a score of 4. Therefore it is recommended that wire loader can reduce abnormal postures. Other than work postures, this paper also recommended several facilities such as hand pallet scissor, portable stairs, and so on.
