Abstract
Produksi dilakukan berdasarkan sistem make to stock, yaitu perusahaan memproduksi berdasarkan persediaan sesuai dengan keperluan. Perusahaan ini tetap melakukan make to order, yaitu perusahaan memproduksi berdasarkan keinginan konsumen.
PT Hilon Sumatra is a manufacturing company that manufactures pillows, bolsters, mattresses and folding mattresses. Production is carried out based on a make to stock system, which is a company producing based on inventory according to needs. This company still makes make to order, namely the company produces based on the wishes of consumers. Requests received by companies come from hotels, inns, hospitals, and others. From QFD Phase II, it is still found in the degree of importance and estimated cost of the foam dentinity, foam material content, and the fatigue accuracy of the foam has a long processing time, so that the finished product becomes a little longer. DFMA method with improvements made with material selection and assembly process charts. The result of the improvement with DFMA is that the mattress design experienced an assembly time savings of 40,996.15 minutes / unit - 40,820.12 minutes / unit = 176.03 minutes / unit of product and an assembly cost savings of Rp 1,532,838 / unit - Rp 1,122.111 / unit = Rp. 410,727 / unit of mattress products and the efficiency of actual mattress products 1.605% with the number of products produced per day is 1 piece and for the calculation of mattress products the proposed product efficiency is 1,884% and the products produced per day are 2.
