Abstract
Berdasarkan data terakhir pada tahun 2021, penduduk Sumatra Utara berjumlah 15.136.522 jiwa, dengan kepadatan penduduk 207,40 jiwa/km2 dan diketahui masih rentannya masalah bencana banjir yang dihadapi penduduk Sumatera Utara khususnya Kota Medan. Banjir merupakan peristiwa terbenamnya daratan karena volume air yang meningkat dan dapat terjadi karena disebabkan oleh alam sendiri ataupun disebabkan oleh ulah manusia. Berdasarkan data terakhir dari Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah (BPBD) Kota Medan, terdapat 13 kecamatan termasuk 25 kelurahan yang menjadi daerah rawan banjir. Desa Sempakata Kecamatan Medan Selayang merupakan salah satu wilayah Sumatera Utara tepatnya di Kota Medan yang rentan mengalami bencana banjir. Hampir setiap musim penghujan, bencana banjir melanda wilayah ini. Metode dan solusi yang dilakukan yaitu dengan metode ceramah meliputi, konsep pengenalan reboisasi, teknik sederhana dalam mengelolah sampah melalui Eco-enzyme, pratik langsung menanam pohon dan sosialisasi mengenai cara menanggulangi banjir di Desa Sempakata. Hasil kegiatan sosialisasi menunjukkan bahwa masyararakat teredukasi dan lebih siap dalam menghadapi bencana banjir. Hampir 95% pengetahuan masyarakat meningkat signifikan, dilihat dari antusiasisme masyarakat dalam bertanya dan memberikan jawaban yang relavan khususnya mengenai konsep penghijauan, teknik sederhana dalam pemilahan sampah serta manfaat Eco-enzyme dari limbah organik rumah tangga.
Based on the latest data for 2021, the population of North Sumatra is 15,136,522 people, with a population density of 207.40 people/km2 and it is known that the population of North Sumatra, especially the city of Medan, is still vulnerable to flood disasters. Flooding is an event where land sinks due to an increase in the volume of water and can occur due to natural causes or human activities. Based on the latest data from the Medan City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), there are 13 sub-districts including 25 sub-districts which are flood-prone areas. Sempakata Village, Medan Selayang District, is one of the areas of North Sumatra, specifically in Medan City, which is vulnerable to flood disasters. Almost every rainy season, floods hit this area. The methods and solutions used include the lecture method, including the concept of introducing reforestation, simple techniques for managing waste through Eco-enzyme, direct practice of planting trees and socialization on how to deal with flooding in Sempakata Village. The results of outreach activities show that the community is educated and better prepared to face flood disasters. Nearly 95% of the community's knowledge has increased significantly, seen from the enthusiasm of the community in asking questions and providing relevant answers, especially regarding the concept of greening, simple techniques for sorting waste and the benefits of Eco-enzymes from household organic waste.
